    A meek-looking meerkat. Behind his glasses, one clouded eye stares forward, unseeing. In his early thirties, the male stands tall and slim, at last filled out despite a life favouring books over muscles. He keeps his brown hair short and attractively styled. Occasionally, the movement of his paws draws attention to the absence of a few fingers: the ring finger on his left paw, and both the ring and pinky fingers of his right, including the adjacent portion of the same paw down to his wrist. He wears a crisp black doublet, the sleeves cut from a black-and-grey brocade, with trousers and well-polished boots. A small pin, the Queen's crest, perches on his collar.
